My Manifesto.

1. Changing Rooms with Showers
With the establishment of the Greenzone Court, a lot more IMU students are finding it easier and more convenient to exercise daily. However, it still lacks a very vital component – changing rooms with shower areas. With the construction of changing rooms, both male and female separate, students will definitely find it easier and more advantageous to change in proper changing rooms before heading out to the courts. This changing room will also come with pigeonholes WITH lock combinations, so students can leave their personal belongings there with no fear of theft. As the B1 basement car park is to be renovated to a Student Center, I suggest that the changing rooms with the showers to be placed there. Students can access the rooms easily when heading to change after lectures, and those after games can effortlessly walk to the changing rooms, shower, and head home.

2. Water Cooler at the Greenzone Court
After a long hard game of basketball, futsal or volleyball at the new court, all the players will definitely be thirsty. At the moment, the only options that they have in obtaining clean, drinking water is that either they bring their own bottled water, or they will have to spend money buying drinks from the roadside stalls. Some students, I noticed, also chose to walk all the way into IMU Ground Floor’s water cooler to refill. Placing a water cooler near the court will definitely bring a lot of benefits to the users of the court. It will be a useful expedient where they can instantly get clean, cold water without resorting to taking long breaks between games. They do not have to worry about getting into IMU during school hours (before 6pm) without proper dress code. I’m thinking at the moment of placing the water cooler just outside the court in front of IMU. This will allow for easy access to all users of the court and at the same time allowing the security guards stationed at the B1 basement car park to look after the cooler, preventing any mischief.

3. Construction of a Proper Gym and Bigger Dance Studio
At the moment there is a small room outside the dance studio which accommodates a few basic gym equipment. There is not enough equipment for more than 2 people to use simultaneously as most of the equipment is not functioning anymore as well. Since there is the new block coming up soon, as well as the B1 basement becoming a student center, I will propose and fight for a new and more professional gym to be installed there. This will allow IMU students to go to the gym knowing that the standard of this gym that we have in IMU is on par with Fitness First, California Fitness and other gyms. A bigger dance studio is also probably on hand to be constructed. The talent and prospect of IMU students in dancing is immense and the lack of a proper studio to practice should not be a hindrance and the reason why IMU students cannot perform well in other bigger dance competitions.

These are the things that IMU can actually do for you all if I get to be the Sports Rep. And of course, with your votes I will be. So do the right thing, for your decision is my wish.
