life in a viewing glass
Here I am again, after almost 2 weeks of heaven, counting down the last 2 days I have in KL.
Life, which had suddenly been so much more complete, is looking to break apart again.
How did 2 weeks pass so quickly?
I'm once again becoming a shadow of a man.
Back to the bleak gray skies.
Back to the icy winds.
Back to reality.
For the times that I had here with you just seemed out of this world.
Such bliss and divinity.
Amazing.
Don't want it to end, ever.
Please play this song again.

the result of stubborn-ess
After a whole day in MV yesterday, we decided to head up to Genting for Boxing Day! Plan was to get the whole-day pass for the Outdoor Theme Park, and we did! For RM44 each. No it was not my idea to go to Genting so that I can get a feel of UK weather again though I must admit today was pretty cold in Genting plus I was only wearing a T-shirt with shorts and flipflops, hence denying me entry to the casino. DAMN IT.
So got our tickets, queued and got into the park, and 5 minutes later it poured. POURED. All the rides were suspended, and people began to crowd at the sheltered main entrance area which has food stalls.
What do you notice in the picture? If you said both the stalls on the left are full of customers and the one on the right that says 'Snek Asli' is shit empty, then you are right.
Looked like a freaking refugee camp. When the rain finally stopped 3 hours later, we went back in to get into a ride. There was a fire show going on as well, which was pretty cool. Plus I managed to get involved in the show as well lol.
Scariest ride ever -.- Technically meant for kids but even a patient with a 99% chance of getting an angina would not have got it riding this shitty excuse of a ride. All the nice rides had super long queues but we decided that we needed to make full use of the RM44 ticket, so we decided to queue for the Cyclone coaster.
Became super cold towards the night. Plus my attire was not meant for this weather. Hence the cold that is developing now in me. Shit. The drive down was epic as well. Weather was so bad and misty that the roads were non-visible. And the worst part is that there are no street lights as well. Disgusting.
Someone send me my nasal spray from the UK. This sneezing is just energy-sapping.

Xmas eve eve
Some of the deco in MV. Dance performances were going on as well and the crowd was like diarrhoea. But that's what I love about MV lol. The sea of people. Thinking of upgrading my Windows to W7, but it will cost RM480, and I am financially crippled at the moment.
Was great to meet up with friends again; Geo, Cheek, Willy, Karrrrr, Rachel, Lilian, Sean gay, Esther and of course the birthday girl. Hopefully we'll get to do something again before I leave.

ho ho ho money (i mean merry) christmas
Some things you only realize after it happens even though it has happened to you time and time again, and this is one of them - McD breakfast is expensive. Ah but what the heck. Most of the cash that I brought back here has been used for food anyway haha. Such pigs. Have to start rationing out before I run out of cash. Unless some bank here will accept Lloyds TSB debit card -_-Managed to get my ext hd and a Razor mouse as well sweeet. Decided against the 1TB hd as it was 3.5'' and I think that it would've occupied too much space in the luggage. Sad. It's the same price as the 2.5'' 500GB one that I got as well.
Then headed to The Curve! (to eat again)
The deco outside. Really love the Christmas season with all the deco. Gonna head to MidValley soon they always have awesome deco as well. Ahh Christmas is such a great holiday season eh? Though we don't know why we are having Christmas as a holiday, or why it is named "Christ -mas" as well since it has nothing to do with Christ as well and more to do with the Pagans and their Dies Natalis Sol Invicti or something my Chemistry teacher used to tell me lol. GASP sacrilege! Or not.
Ah but who cares. As long as people are happy and companies are making money out of it then the world is a happier place no?
And my fav shot of the day :) Can't wait to go out later! And having family dinner as well tonight lol.
Got to hit the showers then. Vista just always feels like home for some reason. Plus the weather hasn't been bad since I'm in the 22nd floor. Need better net to play the games to use my mouse!!

back in the M-S-I-A
The bee picked me up from the airport! And I'm crashing in my friend's place in Vista. Went to Ole Ole Bali on the 1st night I was back - 17th Dec. I will kill to get this kind of food in Preston.
Finally had my haircut as well at a not so cutthroat price here. Had just been pigging out with the girlfriend since I have been back lol planning all the foodstuff to eat. Pity there are not really that many good movies out.
Oh and we finished one roll of film with the Diana F+ already! Can't wait to develop it tomorrow as well as go tech shopping haha. Need a new and bigger (1TB woooooo!) external HD and a new mouse as well. Gonna get a Razor to make my Microsoft one his biatch.
Don't wanna think of leaving KL and the gf again. 10 more days?! Sigh.

Battle of the sexes - one gene keeps us either male or female, scientists find
Researchers have found that the body is in a constant fight to remain either female or male and the suppression of just one gene could cause it to "flip" from one to the other.
The remarkable findings refute the generally held view that sex is determined at birth and is irreversible in later life.
They could also lead to treatments for certain gender disorders in children, early menopause in women and even eventually non-surgical sex changes.
In mammals, males have XY chromosomes and females XX. The new research shows that another gene is responsible for switching women into men.
If the FOXL2 is switched on then the body grows ovaries, switched off and they are replaced by testicles.
But what really surprised the researchers is that the process continues after birth and the body remains in a constant tussle to either switch on or off the gene - even in adulthood.
"No one would have betted on this," said Professor Mathias Treier of the University of Cologne in Germany. "That's why the finding is so spectacular,"
The team found that in adult mice by turning off the FoxL2 gene, the ovary cells started to change testicular cells. This suggest the same effect could happen to humans.
"It was thought that you were born either female or male and then your body forgot about it," said Dr Robin Lovell-Badge, the co-author at Britain's Medical Research Council's National Institute of Medical Research.
"But this suggests that the battle of the sexes continues all the way through your life, "
The researchers believe that the process could be similar to that in some fish who are able switch sexes at times when there is a scarcity of either males or females.
No wonder. It's all so clear now :D

Getting into the mood
Teong Rhen and Syed. You can almost make out Mastura in the background lol. Having fun drunk. Syed, well, its a secret haha.
The roast turkey! And what's left of my beer in the corner.
And the Christmas pudding, which I swapped with Niha as she didn't like her choice of the vanilla panacotta, which looked something like this.
Was great fun, having to drink and a good laugh with friends. And my net sucks big time now. Ffs we are paying quite a sum for the fastest service and I do expect it to be better.
6 more days!! Oh this is gonna be a splendid Christmas.

the bee & i
On the bright side, the 17th is becoming more and more a reality. All the planning and all the anticipation. Cue the best Christmas ever. Shopping for presents, getting together for decorations and food, and of course just spending time with the one that I love. What more could one ask for?
Actually I would want to ask for the entire collection of P.G Wodehouse. It's 10pounds per book at the quaint little bookshop near town. Had to rummage through all the shelves right at the back of the shop haha. Just picture it. Something like this but muskier and older. Damn nice place to be.
Oh nevermind. Found a few on eBay and Amazon. Awesome.

Old school Manchester
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die.
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure the privilege is mine.
